About Nourish Our Kids

Mission Statement

Nourish Our Kids, Inc.™ (NOK, pronounced “knock”) strives to become a nationally recognized brand for creatively tackling the current childhood obesity crisis afflicting young children. The core philosophies of NOK are based on founder Donna Terjesen’s experience and work as a holistic health counselor, her journey and recovery from a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis in 1992, being a mother of three children, and her core beliefs in adapting a balanced, natural and healthy lifestyle.

NOK’s primary mission is to reach as many children as possible in their every day environment to teach and inspire them to eat healthy and exercise daily. Statistics show that children can achieve long term health benefits by intervening early in their lives and exposing them to healthy lifestyle practices. Nourish Our Kids, Inc.™ uses its healthy peer-role model characters, The NOK Rockers, in their storybooks, music, games, and early intervention school curriculums targeting young children ages 4-7 years old. The NOK characters, along with simple age appropriate teaching techniques, are used in tandem to coach children how to make healthy lifestyle choices and decisions on their own.

By using the healthy NOK brand and products in your homes and schools, our hope is to encourage and empower parents and educators to support a lifetime of healthy living choices for our children.

  • Thank you so very much for coming to our class on Thursday. I learned a lot of new things about my health and everyone's health. Now know soda, candy, and junk food is not good for my health, so I'll cut that habit out. I am sometimes tired. I thought it was because the class is boring, but it's because I don't eat breakfast nor lunch. I'm pretty hungry after school. Sometimes I would get a pizza or a bagel. Sometimes a pack of chips and a soda. Sometimes walk up stairs to the 5th floor gives me a headache, but now I know why!

    Thank you so much!
